I started personal training with Dan in January 2012. I had been suffering from a bad back for several years and had tried various treatments none of which had really led to any meaningful improvement. Dan was recommended by a work colleague.
To be honest I was a bit skeptical before I started because I couldn’t easily see the potential improvement to my back that would come from, as I saw it, training with weights. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Dan took the time to fully understand what I was hoping to achieve and to assess the strengths and weaknesses in my fitness. Dan is a thorough professional. He has an extensive knowledge of both training and how the body works. He uses this knowledge to develop the right combination and progression of exercises. His approach is positive, encouraging and varied and his expertise covers the full range of wellbeing including how to improve things like diet. He has a very friendly, calm and confident personal style and a real attention to detail. He understands that different people move at a different pace and need different ways to motivate themselves.

Dan is a fantastic trainer. Â He develops bespoke programmes for me which fully take into account my goals....and is happy to tweak each session depending on how I am feeling on a particular day. Â On my lower energy days, he starts the session gently but then slowly ups the pace, so I get a good workout. Â He actively looks for opportunities to broaden his already extensive knowledge and remain up to date with current thinking. I first started training feeling nervous that a lack of fitness would hold me back and sceptical that id see real results when previous diets and exercise regimes had never been successful. What I have experienced simply could not have proved me more wrong.

I have trained with Dan for almost a decade now. He has been there for me throughout lock down and we have just adapted our sessions to training on-line and using whatever equipment I could cobble together.  We have trained via Facetime or Zoom in the garden, in my living room and by the side of my desk when I needed some help on mobility.  He is an excellentand knowledgeable teacher who has been visionary with his on- line training. Like everyone else, working from home has had its challenges for me; my posture and weight have taken a hit.  Dan is helping me through all of this and he has been a God send when I have needed help with back ache or neck strain or the niggles from sitting at a laptop all day. Â
